Dr Lucas has been a pastor and Bible teacher for many years. He holds a Ph.D. in New Testament studies, has taught university and college classes, and has offered many Bible-based seminars to the public. He is able to communicate effectively the Bible’s message in a personal and relevant way making it practical for every-day living. People have greatly appreciated his honesty and enthusiasm for God. His burning desire is to help people of all ages and faiths better understand the Bible as a guide for daily living and total health.
Wholeness and health have been an emphasis of the Seventh-day Adventist Church* since the 1860s when the denomination was in its early stages of development. The Bible reminds us that the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and we have been entrusted with the privilege of maintaining and improving our spiritual, mental, social and physical health. The health ministries of the church promote good health and the prevention of ill health to help achieve this goal of wholeness.

The health ministries of the Adventist Church include a healthcare delivery system of church-operated clinics and hospitals throughout the world, ranging from top-quality medical universities and schools of learning all the way along the spectrum to "bare-essentials" clinics serving the developing world. Through all of these avenues, the goal of Health Ministries is to make people whole in an imperfect and disease-ravaged world.

*The Seventh-day Adventist Church is a mainstream Protestant denomination with nearly 24 million members internationally in over 200 countries, which includes nearly 1.2 million members in North America. The Adventist Church is known world-wide for its health and wellness programs, including the oldest stop smoking program in the US called "Breathe-Free" (formerly "The Five Day Plan to Stop Smoking"), Advent Health's (formerly Florida Hospital) CREATION Health Program, and world renown health improvement programs such as CHIP (Complete Health Improvement Program), NEWSTART Lifestyle Management, Weimar Institute, and Uchee Pines Institute, to name a few.

About Us
Genesis Center for Better Living is a non-profit health education center for people of all faith backgrounds and is a community service of the Health Ministries Department of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Cape Coral located at 1813 El Dorado Parkway West in Cape Coral, FL. The church believes that health and wellness are a positive support for spiritual well-being.
